KRISTINE S. CUMMINGS

Attorney at Law + Mediator

Kristine is a State Bar Certified Family Law Specialist, who has been practicing exclusively in the field of family law since 1996.  She graduated from the University of California at Davis School of Law in 1992 and became a Certified Family Law Specialist in 2004. 

​

She is a member of the following professional organizations: Family Law Section of the State Bar of California; Sacramento County Bar Association, Family Law Section; Association of Certified Family Law Specialists; Christian Legal Society; and the Sacramento Collaborative Practice Group. 

 

Kristine has extensive training and experience in resolving disputes using out of court processes, including but not limited to mediation and Collaborative Practice. She presently serves on the board of the Sacramento Collaborative Practice Group and trains other multi-disciplinary divorce professionals throughout the state of California in the Collaborative Practice model of resolving disputes out of court.  She also accepts court-appointments for representing minors in complex custody cases where the court finds it is in the children's best interest to be represented by independent counsel.

 

Kristine has been married to the love of her life, Todd, for over 30 years. They share 5 wonderful children, all of whom live close by. This enables them to spend lots of time with their 4 grandkids. On weekends you will find Kristine competing with  one of her tennis teams, relaxing with a great book, or hosting a family gathering.

VALERIE ZHARINOVA

Legal Assistant + Office Manager

Valerie Zharinova has been with the practice for over 10 years. She received the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in 1993 from Saratov State University, and her paralegal certificate in 2001 from CA State University, Monterey. Valerie offers efficiency, compassion and attention to detail to every single case in the practice. Val makes it her goal to insure that every client feels their unique needs are being met in the best way possible throughout the duration of the matter.

Val enjoys spending time with her husband hiking, savoring good food and wine, and planning their next trip to explore new cities and countries.

HAYLEE WALSH

Litigation Paralegal/Certified Law Student

Haylee Walsh has worked in the family law field since 2021. She is currently attending Lincoln Law School of Sacramento, where she is pursuing her Juris Doctor degree with an anticipated graduation in 2027. Haylee’s ultimate goal is to become a family law attorney.

 

Haylee is a Certified Law Student, which permits her to represent clients at hearings, trials, depositions, and other proceedings under the supervision of a licensed attorney.

 

As a dedicated family law paralegal and Certified Law Student, Haylee brings compassion, precision, and strong organizational skills to every case she supports. She excels at managing sensitive client matters with empathy and discretion while ensuring legal procedures are followed accurately and efficiently. With a solid understanding of court rules, document preparation, and case management, she plays a key role in assisting attorneys in delivering timely, thorough, and client-centered legal support.

 

Outside of work and school, Haylee enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Cooper and Gunner, who love swimming and going on adventures. She also enjoys baking and is well known in the office for bringing in homemade treats to share with her colleagues.

Camille graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (Pre-Law Concentration) from California State University, Sacramento in 2021, and earned her Juris Doctorate from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in May 2024. 

 

Camille developed a strong interest in family law through her experience as an intern for the Justice Epstein Judicial Internship Program, in which she gained firsthand insight into the dynamics of family law cases. Her interest in family law continued to blossom when she externed at My Sister's House, where she assisted victims of domestic violence in navigating the court system -- as well as when she externed for a judge at the Family Division of the Sacramento Superior Court, where she observed numerous family court proceedings.

 

Through these experiences, Camille developed a deep commitment to guiding spouses, parents, and children through difficult domestic situations with compassion, clarity, and strong legal advocacy.

​

Outside of the office, Camille enjoys reading graphic novels and philosophy books, playing the piano, and spending time with her cat.
